May ’23

Hi, my name is Martin,
Virginiamusic is the continuation of Trekstation jazz. Five Trekstation-channels were created together with my dear friend and colleague Jeffrey Willems. But on a sunny spring-day in 2022 he had a heart attack and passed away…. After a year of struggle and a sad and gloomy mood by keeping all five channels on-air, I had to decide to give up our beloved Trekstation project. How I still miss him!

What is Virginiamusic?

Virginiamusic was my radio-project before I worked together with Jeffrey on Trekstation.

Music plays an important role in my life. Time after time music brings me joy. It is my passion to build a radiostation, to amplify and broadcast these good feelings. I want to create a trustworthy and elegant place where you can feel at home. And where you can enjoy the things you (really) like to do.

To play “vocal jazz” and “female voices only” was not a preconceived plan. It evolved through time in pursuit of creating my ideal world; a pretty world without borders.

Virginiamusic started in 2007 with a closed channel. In september 2010, it was made publicly accessible. First a mix with pop, soul, lounge and jazz. From early 2014 the music-genre became vocal jazz. Always handpicked and individually composed.
